INTRODUCTION
You now have the most complete set of instructions on the process of regripping a golf club ever published. The "Prime Directive" here at Easy Golf Grips.com is to spell out the process, the whole process, and be as clear as possible. We leave nothing out. We include some details and technical information the you may or may not need. However, our goal is to lay everything out--totally--so you don't have to use your imagination to figure this out. If you want to use your imagination, read through everything first. Then later, you can develop any shortcuts you can find.
If you have no idea how to get started to regrip your clubs, this manual will take you through the whole process in enough detail that you will be able to regrip a club easily, correctly, and safely. Not only are you getting the full process described in detail, you will get lots of bonus information.
This is the only source we know of that not only describes the "common" techniques, but also covers some alternative ways to accomplish a given step or procedure. You can then decide which way best fits your situation, tools, workplace, etc. Not everybody has a basement workshop or space for a lot of tools or workbenches.
There is no "one way" to regrip golf clubs. Everybody we have ever watched refrip a club does it a little differently. Everybody learns the basics somehow then modifies the various techniques to suit themselves and to fit their own background, mechnaical ability, shop limitations, right or left handedness, etc.
This manual lays out and describes each step so you learn not only the how, but also the why of each step to give you a solid foundation to build your own unique technique.
There are many, many sources in books magazines, catalogs, and websites that try to describe the regripping process. Some are OK, frankly. But, most just skim over this multi-step process and leave lots of important questions unanswered. They don't even warn you what happens if you foul up during a certain task or how to fix a mistake. They gloss over a step or certain point and don't bother to tell you why it is important or what effect not doing it correctly will have.
You deserve better! Where appropriate, we include warnings and tips to help you avoid mistakes. In addition, a unique feature of this manual is that each step has an "Appendix" to discuss any alternative ways to accomplish that step or other helpful information.
This manual was designed not only for the beginner, but also for those that have some experience. If you have done some regripping before, you may learn some different techniques, technical information, or tips that make the job easier for you. But, for the uninitiated, the process is described in minute detail.
We believe that you can learn the process in this manual and do the job correctly in very short order. You won't have to wade through all the mistakes and "boo-boos" by yourself like you would if your instructions were a short video or a few summary paragraphs. So, for that reason, we strongly suggest you read through the whole manual at least once before you start the process.
As you get started, you will likely make a few mistakes….for sure! Our goal is to help you through the probable pitfalls. It's like having a professional right there looking over your shoulder. This manual will save you time, money and a lot of frustration over all the other "how to" regripping material.
This edition of the manual is a combination of written descriptions and photographs. (We are not professional authors or photographers.) The writing is designed to be as totally complete as possible. As above, we would rather overstate a point rather than possibly leave out good information.
You know that "a picture is worth a thousand words", right? We include lots of photos to help you get a complete understanding of what needs to be done. We are working on producing this manual in video form--at least in part. However, producing a video is more expensive for us and you. In addition, we won't put out a video product that is not just as complete as the present form. That will take some time. We want to avoid just putting out a three-minute video that is just as bad as some of the ones we've seen on the web and elsewhere.
As supplementary information, we may offer articles that focuses/expands and/or clarifies a certain important part of the process. Additional supplementary information can be found on our website Easy Golf Grips.com.
