About This Site
A Personal Note.
How do I regrip my golf clubs?  That was the first question on this website because that is why this site was created.  On many occassions I have been asked to provide information about the whole subject of golf grips, regripping, sizing, etc.  So here it is.

I am the developer of this site, and like you, a golfer!
I live in a golf community in southeastern North Carolina and can
play 18 holes everyday (if the back and weather hold up).

Here is a little of my story.  I started out many years ago by going out to a local course in the mid-west with a few buddies and...just playing.  We went out on an occasional weekend and beat that white ball all over the course.  I can remember hitting a gigantic, NO....The Ultimate banana ball slice.  It was horrible!  Somewhere along the line, some of us decided we wanted to try to play better.  Over the years, we studied, practiced, watched the pros, and actually took a few lessons here and there.  Our games slowly got better.

In 1993, I found a renewed interest in the game and focused on and began experimenting with all the new golf equipment coming out.  All that experimenting got pretty expensive.  Ordering the latest hot club or shaft got to be too much.  I started looking for ways to put clubs together myself to test different options.

So, by the end of 1995, I had been to three different golf clubmaking and clubfitting schools from beginning to advanced.  I became a Certified Clubmaker and was a member (now past member) of the PCS (Professional Clubmakers Society) and went to all their yearly conferences.  I opened a small club repair shop and operated it for several years on a part-time basis.

If you want a better golf game, not much can replace a few good sessions of instruction from a qualified, competent instructor.  However, clubmakers have learned that there are lots of ways to trim shots off your game by paying attention to some details of your clubs.  That is what this website is all about.  It is my goal to point out things (sometimes small things) about your clubs and other parts of your game that can make a difference.  Sometimes it's the little things that count, eh?

I am retired now and take every opportunity to pass along any of my clubmaking knowledge to anyone who will listen.  I repair and regrip many of my friends, neighbors, and aquaintences golf clubs in my own shop.  It's still fun to do some experimenting.  When anyone wants to try the latest shaft, head, grip, etc., I put everything together for them.

For the last two years, I have volunteered my clubmaking services to our local chapter of THE FIRST TEE.  There is a photo of me regripping a club in my shop that appeared in a local publication.  Check it out at
brunswickcountytoday.com, Fall 09, Online flash Edition, pages 22-25.

My golf game has pretty much plateaued.  My handicap index varies from 4 to 6.5 depending on the season of the year (I hate cold weather golf).  I am proud to say that I was fortunate enough to win my Club Championship a couple years ago.  The competition out on the course with friends is a great way to spend the day and it is all still lots of fun.

I hope you will develop an interest in your clubs.  Not only how to regrip them, but also learn to work with them a little.  You will find that just a little knowledge of simple things like grips and other club features will make a positive difference in your golf game.  If you have a goal of playing  better golf, I hope this website and it's progeny can be one of your trusted sources of information.

Take a close look at this site.  There's lots of information that could help to improve your game.  Make sure you get our FREE REPORT, Golf Grips:  Features, Sizing, How They Affect Your Game.  Just sign up to receive it via email.  If you want to start regripping clubs yourself, get more infomation HERE.
